The Rift - Chapter 4

Part 1;

Life and time has so many twists and turns I’m surprised it still manages to be linear.

I turned round constantly in darkness, in shock.

Once I did 3 or 4 complete turns, Gary had appeared to my left, he just, stood there.

After about 20 seconds, which felt like an era, he just, collapsed.
He was there for about 5 seconds, and he got up.

‘Jimmy?’ He said.
‘Yes, it was all part of your plan wasn’t it? To get the 5 Keycards off me, and leave me, stranded in nowhere. So the question is, what use are the Keycards to you?’ I asked.
‘What do you mean?... Oh I know what you mean…’ He said, ‘The Zulags are full of magical power, which can switch spirits, I went in to Zulag 5 to tell you about the 70 Zulags going to appear, but my Frequency Generator was playing up, so I got the wrong frequency, and I appeared in the Zulag 4 after you killed Glukk, I accidentally bumped in to the Spirit Replacer, and it stole my spirit, and gave me a replacement, I had the technology in Chip 3, the one you won’t get, to revert to my bodies previous settings through the Rift.’ He continued.

‘You mean, I have a different spirit than my original inside me?’ I asked.
‘Yes, I’m afraid, but I can revert your body after, lets get those Keycards in that Cavern!’ He said.

Part 2;

A portal appeared, it took us back to the Rift House.

We walked back to the Microchip Room; he removed Chip 1, and put Chip 2 in, because Chip 2 does all that Chip 1 does, and more.

‘This chip is your reward, and your reward is, you can travel anywhere you want, you can go to any time in Club Penguin, and any place. Use it wisely.’ He ordered.

We both entered the Master Cavern’s frequency and appeared outside the main door.

I placed the first, second, third and fourth cards, Gary interrupted me.

‘What happens to you once this is all done? Where will you go?’ He asked.
‘I don’t know, go back home, continue with my normal life.’ I replied.
‘What happens if you don’t make it back? What happens if the Rift revokes and eats the defences? Destroying the whole of Club Penguin and the whole of Saracott? What happens if you don’t enable the Rift Defences?’ He wondered.
‘Saracott?’ I questioned.
‘The planet Club Penguin is on, well you never know, there could be a Club Cow for all we care.’ He explained.
‘Your imagination…’ I mentioned.
‘… is great.’ He continued.

I placed the last card in the door, and the door lifted away, we walked in, and the final moment awaits.

Part 3;

I ran in to the cave, it was a vast room, full of bits of gadgetry, I saw a massive lever, with a sign above it reading ‘Rift Defence Lever’ with an arrow pointing to it, A little sign, like the ones in toilet cubicles, which say Engaged etc, was in the base of the lever, it currently said ‘OFF’.

‘Pull this lever and it’s all over.’ He said, ‘There isn’t much time! Rift strike in 1 minute!’

I grabbed firmly on the lever, but before I could pull it, Gary was wielding a gun, a BAN gun, one shot of it, deals a permanent ban.

‘Hey! Watch where you’re waving that thing!’ I said.
‘I’m aiming at you.’ He replied.

I turned round, slowly, and relaxed my arms, I quickly pulled the Staff from behind my back, and aimed Ice Blaster at him, I jumped up to some rocks, and I Ice Blasted him, he must have had some antidote in his blood, because the ice was melting.

I grabbed the lever, watched the ice melt, I pushed it to the right, hard, the sign at the bottom said ‘ON’. I heard the sound of loud noises go in the main room.

Gary had melted out of his cosy Ice Block, as soon as he did, he tilted his head up, and a shocking shouting screaming noise came out of his lips, lasted for quite a while, then his spirit came out of him, and went straight in to the lever, his body fell to the floor, dead.

Part 4;

I had just killed, Gary the Gadget Man, he never knew about the PSA, so he couldn’t have ran it yet, so who runs the PSA?

I ran out the cave, did a frequency teleport back to the main Rift House, bits of rubble and rocks were falling, the building was caving in, the whole Rift House infrastructure was failing, I navigated from passageway to passageway, left, right, left, left, right, left, right, right, and finally, the big double doors, I flung them open, walked out, then I realised where this whole place was.

Part 5;

This place was embedded in the cliff on Rockhopper Island, I knew as soon as I got out, I looked down, and I saw Rockhopper, with Yarr, rolling some Cream Soda barrels in to a small hut. I walked down the cliff, which was infested with bits of forest, I made it to land, where I saw Club Penguin, in it’s full beauty, out there, in the sea. This is what I want to do! I just remembered! My Puffles!
I walked down, I stopped for a pause for thought, I am not myself, I will return when I am.

The Rift House behind me suddenly exploded, bits of rubble flew down the forest, and then I decided…

I’m getting my Spirit Back.
